BGA, Empire and Frezza Canoodle in NYC
3.10.08 |A three-some is occurring in New York City. Bill Gross & Associates, Empire Office and Frezza have
been getting awful cozy lately, and an unveiling of Frezza's new New York
City display space in the Bill Gross & Associates showroom located at
257 Park Avenue South was the perfect place for the three to show each
other off to all their friends.
Indiana Furniture Opens at NYDC
3.3.08 | Indiana Furniture, another contract furniture company based in the
high-work-ethic town of Jasper, IN, opened its first showroom last week
in the New York Design Center. Jasper, as many know, is a
veritable West Michigan in southern Indiana because of its concentration
of contract furniture manufacturers: Kimball, National, Jofco, Versteel,
Jasper Chair, Indiana Furniture, etc. The attraction is a highly
dedicated work force and a lot of experience with wood. If you have your
own airplane, you might want to check it out. Jasper (the sister city to
Pfaffenweiler, I am told) has been listed as the 25th best small town in
America. Scott Schwinghammer, Versteel, tells of many jolly times
there, but I've only seen the Schnitzelbank Restaurant, and they weren't
even singing German beer drinking songs.
Haworth Opens Toronto Showroom
1.21.08 | Haworth's new Toronto showroom occupies 13,000
square feet on the first and second stories of a
choice corner location at University Avenue, the
city's main processional axis, and Adelaide
Street. It sits a few blocks from the fabled
intersection of King and Bay, where the
highrise-architecture shootout (Mies van der
Rohe, I. M. Pei, Edward Durrell Stone, Webb
Zerafa Menkes Housden) of the bank-bank
headquarters demarcates Canada's financial nerve
center. The location offers direct access to the
University subway line and the PATH underground
pedestrian network, as well as major traffic arteries.
