Dorothy Cosonas and Knoll Textiles Introduce. . .
5.8.06
| Dorothy Cosonas joined KnollTextiles as creative director
in March 2005 following in some illustrious footsteps most recently of
Suzanne Tick whose lineage can be traced back to Florence
Knoll, who founded the division in 1947 when she was unable to find
appropriate fabrics in the market to suit the needs of the Knoll
furniture line. Ms. Knoll (now Florence Knoll Bassett) turned to fashion
for inspiration for her new contract furniture, adapting classic patterns
from men's suiting and from hand woven designs.
Material ConneXion and Ingeo
5.1.06 | Ingeo:
Ingredients from the Earth. It is the first man-made fiber made from
100% annually renewable resources. NatureWorks LLC. is the
company behind Ingeo, which uses corn (or any form of annually renewable
dextrose), instead of oil, and turns it into a fiber similar and
comparable to polyester. NatureWorks has launched Ingeo Earth Month
promoting their product world wide.
