World Workplace 2008
10.27. 08 | IFMA's World Workplace Conference & Expo is an annual three-day educational and networking event showcasing the trends and new products affecting today's built environment. I attended this year's edition, which was branded the youniversal workplace event, complete with youniversal lapel pins for attendees! (Cute, right?)

Southern California Chapter held the Catalyst Breakfast at the
Century Plaza Hyatt Regency with Wagner James Au presenting,
The Making of Second Life.
A Random Walk: A Single Voice for Interior Design
10.20.08 | Last week we received a heartening press release, one each from the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and the IIDA (International Interior Design Association), noting that the respective boards of directors of these organizations had met recently to discuss the future of the interior design profession and issues that face each organization and their members.
Would someone please send this group to Washington?
10.6.08 | Industry forums and roundtable discussions often disappoint. After long
weekends of wordy exchanges, a bit of occasional pontification, and

when it met for three days to discuss Sustaining Interior Design
Education. It not only succeeded in identifying the problem and
challenges, it responded with the attached report: a strategy, complete
listing of recommendations and an implementation plan for the next five
years.
